The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) is a monthly survey conducted by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The survey measures job openings, hires, and separations in the private nonfarm sector of the economy.

The JOLTS data are used to track the health of the labor market and to identify trends in hiring and separations. The data are also used to calculate the quits rate, which is the number of workers who voluntarily leave their jobs divided by the number of employees.
